Everyday habits: back to basics
In my naturopathy practice and my yoga teaching, I often come back to everyday habits. Before trying to do more, let’s take time to notice what is already there: our sleep patterns, meals, movement and the space we leave for rest.
Quality sleep and schedules that are as regular as possible offer a first point of reference. We can also observe our consumption of stimulants and alcohol, as well as the place of screens in the evening.
Daily movement adapted to our abilities, along with practices such as yoga, breathing, meditation or relaxation, can be part of this approach. The intention is to choose habits that we can genuinely integrate into our lives.
When it comes to food, let’s return to regular meals, minimally processed foods, and enough fibre and protein for our needs.
Consistency matters, but it does not require perfection. These reference points invite us to get to know ourselves better and gradually adjust what we can. They do not, on their own, explain the causes of changes in mood, and they do not replace medical or psychological support when it is needed.
What habits help you feel more balanced?
