Individual yoga
A practice adapted to you, a space to observe and deepen your understanding
I guide you through an exploration of yoga that begins with your experience and your questions. Postures, breath and meditation offer opportunities to get to know yourself better and refine your understanding, whether you are discovering the practice or wish to deepen it.
In Montréal or online.
Yoga as self-knowledge
My approach follows the path of the eight limbs of yoga presented in Patañjali’s Yoga Sūtras. Traditional teachings and contemporary knowledge inform an inquiry that I invite you to explore through direct experience.
Practice allows us to observe sensations, the movements of thought and our responses to effort, ease or difficulty. Moments of silence and meditation extend this attention.
We learn to recognize thoughts without trying to suppress them or identify with them. This approach invites us to cultivate equanimity: remaining present with changing experience, without being habitually swept away by our reactions. It extends into how we live, make choices and relate to others.
Understanding and refining the practice
My teaching is informed in particular by the Iyengar tradition, with its attention to precision, props and progression.
I guide you in understanding what you are doing and why: feeling your points of support, distributing effort, observing the breath and adjusting an action. A chair, blocks or a strap can support this exploration and adapt a posture to your possibilities.
We take time to try, feel and compare, without imposing a shape to be reproduced at all costs.
A session shaped with you
We begin with your experience, your expectations and anything that needs to be considered to adapt the session. We can build foundations, explore a posture in greater depth or devote more time to breath and meditation.
Your questions and observations guide our work. The aim is to develop an understanding you can draw on in your personal practice, with discernment and respect for your own pace.
